Our Club was chartered in April 1964 by The Lions Club of Eastwood & Epping primarily to service and minister to the community needs of the fast growing North-West district of Sydney. The primary project of our club in 1964 was to support the needs of the Inala School.
Our club has served the needs of its local community for over 55 years. During this time it has raised over $1.8 million to assist many organisations including, The Red Cross Blood Bank (50 years), Youth of The Year, since 1974, Inala annual Fete – past 55 years, The Lions Save Sight Foundation (since inception in January 1971), Hornsby Hospital (firstly establishing a Kiosk for patients & visitors in the 1960’s, building motel style units in the 1980’s to enable country parents to be with their sick children), Bush-fire, flood & drought disaster relief, assisting with Cancer Research at Westmead Children’s Hospital and Hart Walker projects to assist disabled children to walk for the first time. International projects include Health Camps in Sri Lanka and water purification facilities.
Our Club welcomes interest from members of the community who feel called to service in terms of caring for others less fortunate than ourselves. Being a member of a Lions Club enables us, as a group, to do so much more than we could accomplish on our own.
Club Dinner meetings are held fourth Monday of each month at The West Pennant Hills Sports Club, 103 New Line Road, West Pennant Hills at 7pm.
