The Lions Club of West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook has conducted a spectacle collection program for many years which has resulted in thousands of pairs of spectacles being made available to needy recipients.
Working with the Wattala Lions Club in Sri Lanka over the past ten years this club has supported annual health camps (3 in 2019) at which spectacles have been issued along with general health checks. In addition to the health camps, the Lions Club has supplied thousands of pairs of spectacles to the Lions Clubs International Worldwide Eyeglass Recycling Program.
This program has been made possible by the generous support of the public in donating their used spectacles.
